Multi Fuel Stoves
The advantage of multifuel stoves is that they allow you to burn more than wood. These fuel types include: smokeless coal, anthracite, coffee & heat logs etc.
Most stoves will have a burn time of up to 45-60 minutes on wood only whereas multifuel stoves can last considerably longer on smokeless coal (up to 3 hours.)
Multifuel stoves have a cast iron grate with an ashpan underneath whereas a wood burner will just have a firebrick at the bottom. This makes multifuel stoves a bit easier to clean out than wood burners.
If you intend to only ever burn wood, you should go for a wood only burner as they are slightly more efficient than multifuel stoves.
Stoves shown with a ClearSkies rating have the industry's lowest ever emissions of carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOx), organic gaseous compounds (OGC) and particulate matter (PM2.5). It is the new, nationally-recognised standard for stoves that go beyond the requirements of the Ecodesign 2022 scheme.
